Position: The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (Truckee Donner PUD) is looking to fill the position of Water Service Technician or a Tech-in-Training position depending on experience.
Under direction of the assigned supervisor, constructs, operates, repairs and maintains the water systems within the District that are within the scope of their training and certification.

Minimum Qualifications:
Below are a list of requirements that represents the knowledge, skill or ability required for this position:
Water Service Technician in Training:
High school diploma or equivalent
Some knowledge of water systems and construction principles is desired.
Some experience driving and operating vehicles and heavy equipment is desired.
Basic knowledge of use of tools and equipment used in water systems is desired.
Ability to follow directions and work with other personnel as assigned.
Ability to learn the knowledge of principles and practices of water systems operations and water facilities, including production, transmission and distribution.
Ability to effectively read and follow operations and safety manuals.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers and other co-workers with clarity and tact.
Must successfully complete the District’s Water Department Service Training and Certification program within 3 years of hire.
Valid Class A CDL driver's license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Must comply with the District’s residency requirement by the completion of training program.
Water Service Technician:
Includes the above listed qualifications and the following:
3 years water system/utility experience
Considerable knowledge of water system facilities including production, transmission, and distribution systems
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of water system operations, maintenance, repair, construction standards and practices
Must possess a California Department of Health Services Water Treatment Operator Grade I (TI) certificate and a Distribution Operator Grade 3 (D3) certificate
