JOB SUMMARY
TDRPD is expanding its Marketing Department and hiring a Marketing Specialist!

Under direct or general supervision, provides a variety of marketing activities including social media posts, content creation & management, copywriting press releases, website editing, graphic design, photography & videography, including interacting frequently with the public and providing information; performs other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION
The starting pay range for the Marketing Specialist is $22.03 – $25.51. TDRPD is currently engaged in a salary survey that could increase the starting salary for this opening.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Associate degree in marketing, business, communications, or a closely related field, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in social media platforms and their best practices
• Intermediate to advanced skills with digital marketing related tools (i.e. Adobe Suite & Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge in graphic design, photography & videography
• Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
Marketing Specialist is an apprentice-level class in the Marketing series. Incumbents perform a variety of specialized projects, including posting on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Twitter), providing engaging written stories for press releases and blog posts, designing flyers and signs, photographing/videography of events, parks and programs. Positions at this level perform the full range of duties as assigned, working independently and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive instruction and planning from the Marketing Manager.
