Job Summary
Visit Truckee-Tahoe’s Administrative & Communications Coordinator assists with the organization’s visitor and lodging business owner communications, conducts administrative duties, and assists with public relations and events coordination. Primary duties include administrative tasks, content creation (writing, photography, and video a plus), assisting with special projects, and helping to maintain website content and social media.

Our work involves a high degree of communication and collaboration with VIP Partners and small businesses who support tourism as we focus on a sustainable future for Truckee. The Administrative & Communications Coordinator will work with two other staff (CEO and Director of Sustainable Tourism) and serve a five-person VTT Board of Directors.
Since its formation in 2020 with 100% funding from the Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID, a 1.25% tourism fee on lodging), Visit Truckee-Tahoe’s mission is to promote, protect and enhance Truckee as an authentic mountain town. Our guiding principle is to serve our lodging business members, partner with key organizations, and balance our actions for the well-being of our community.
Schedule
Hourly, 28-32 hours a week. Monday-Friday, 6-8 hours a day between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm with flexibility.
Supervision
While this position reports directly to the CEO, the Director of Sustainable Tourism oversees Coordinator’s priorities, schedule and quality of work. The Coordinator primarily assists and works closely with the Director.
Location and Work Environment
Remote. This is a work-from-home position with occasional in-person duties including monthly Board Meetings in Truckee. Truckee or North Lake Tahoe residence location is strongly preferred. Candidate must have a reliable high-speed internet connection, cell phone service, and a suitable home office environment.

Hourly Wage & Benefits
Hourly rate starts at $35 and depends upon experience. Position is 28 hours/week at a minimum, with potential for up to 32. At 32 hours/week, employee is considered full time and eligible for three weeks paid vacation, 11 holidays, plus IRA contribution after the required time period is met. Currently, health, dental, vision benefits are not offered by Visit Truckee-Tahoe.
